Salem, First of all, I'd like to mention that the family name is written Harzallah in north africa and that this family is not necessarily arabic, it is not in fact, at least in its north african branch. As far as I know the biggest concentration of Harzallah family is in Tunisia and precisely in the city of Monastir, It's a big family that counts at least 7 or 8 distinct branches with no clear relationship between them in this only town. They are also present in other different Tunisian Cities but in a smaller Numbers. They are thought to be amazighs or berbers (the autochtones of north africa) since their family name matches with amazighs presence in Aït Harzallah, a village holding the family namein Marroco. Another hypothese says that they are originated from the Atlas Mountains in Marroco. There is also a small mosque called Sidi Harzallh in the amazigh village of Sadouikech in the island of djerba in Tunisia and their presence is confirmed in Algeria too. The amazigh origin is not defenitly prooved but the presence of the familly in north africa seem to be very ancient and they certinly have had their descendance blended with the autochtones by marriages. I have no Idea if this family had lived in Al-Andalous and emigrated from or not but most of the families I know belong to the muslim faith. Can any body tell me To how far this family extend in history? and to which ethnic group is it related? and does the families of palestine and jordan belong to a same one original family as the north african harzallahs? Thanks for helping

Dear Harzallah s,
I beleive that since we are all arabs, you must have thought of the meaning of our family name. so if you look deeply into the dictionary of this name and devide it into two parts (herz allah), you can understand that the first part which is "herz" means protection, and so Herzallah means gods protection. while the word "harz" dosn't have any meaning in the name. so, i think that you should consider this.

Graet Work! This is Oleg Harzallov from Khazastan. My ancestor (Ahmed Ait harzallah) moved from the Berber region in North Africa to the old Soviet Union at the beginning of the century. He came here to make d3awa and spread Islam but he ended up being alcoholic and selling vodka and drugs in the street. But make no mistake, our family is clean now. For example, I do not drink nor do drugs (except for few Heineken on weekends). I own my own vegetable stand in downtown tashkand and more pricesely at the corner of Gorbatchev and Putin street. All my brother and sister (11 in total) are good businessman like myself. Lets's keep in touch through this great web page. Long live the harzallov and harzallah families.
